The Medford Area Middle School music program is making a call for instrument donations.

Kendra Junk, who teaches instrumental music at MAMS, is making the appeal for people to help support the middle school band programs.

“As the school year kicks off, our Medford Band Program is in need of your help! We’re reaching out to our community to support our talented young musicians by donating or sponsoring essential band instrument,” she said. People can do this by donating their old equipment or sponsoring the purchase of a new instrument.

“If you have band instruments gathering dust at home, consider donating them to the Medford Band! Simply drop them off at the Medford middle school office (509 E Clark St). We can provide a letter for tax purposes if needed,” Junk said.

For those interested in donating new equipment, Junk explained that the school has a wishlist of instruments to replace or add to their collection.

“You can sponsor one or more of these instruments by sending a check to the Medford District Office (124 W State St) or MAMS Office. Please specify that it is for the Medford Band program and which instrument( s) you would like to sponsor. We’ll recognize your generous support in our school year programs as a token of our gratitude,” Junk said.
