Elaine P. Mravik, 89, of Medford, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 at the Homeplace of Dorchester surrounded by her family and while under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born Feb. 4, 1935 in Rib Lake to Andrew and Frances (Monheim) Scheuer. She grew up on the family farm in Rib Lake and graduated from Rib Lake High School in 1953.

Elaine was a natural homemaker and caregiver. She often had family members staying at her house, and to help working parents, would look after the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The little ones (and even the not-so-little ones) would sneak candy from her special treat drawer, in addition to indulging in her delicious pies and other desserts. Her house was truly a home, and all were welcome.

She was a member of the Medford VFW Auxiliary and volunteered with many activities to support our local veterans. She was a talented quilter, and enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening, bowling and going for walks.

She will be missed by her four children, Karen Schlais of Athens, Ron Mravik of Oshkosh, Tim (Jen) Mravik of Medford, Peggy Mravik of Medford; four grandchildren, Laura (fiancée Jonathan Roepke) Ulrich of Westboro, Lee (Jessica Murphy) Schlais of Eau Claire, Linda Whittenberger of Athens, Cassandra (Christopher) Alexander of Marshfield; seven greatgrandchildren, Desirae Schlais, EmmaRae (Jalyssa) Schlais, Ervin Jr., Lily and Isaac Ulrich, Brynlee and Brecken Schlais; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael on April 5, 2003; siblings, Lucille Dallenbach, Marian Peche, Betty Wisniewski, Carolyn Schilling, and Norman Scheuer; and grandsons-inlaw, Ervin Ulrich Sr. and Jade Whittenberger.

A funeral mass will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
