Spencer school looking at building upgrade options



The Spencer School District building complex is beginning to show its age in some areas. The district Board of Education wants not only to get out ahead of that issue, but to keep its facilities as modern as can be afforded so prospective open-enrollment students will want to attend classes there.
With a dual purpose of simply keeping up with building maintenance and staying competitive with neighboring districts, the Spencer Board is eyeing a potential building project in the near future. The early discussions taking place now could lead to an eventual building referendum vote, with residents asked to take on more property taxes to fund the improvements.
