Saturday funeral set for boating accident family members

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Loyal High School for four members of a Loyal family who died last week in a boating accident on Lake Superior near Bayfield. A fund has also been established at an area bank to help the family.
Eric Fryman, 39, and his three children -- 9-year-old Kyra, 5-year-old Analiese, and 3-year-old Jansen -- died on Aug. 31 when the kayak in which they were riding capsized on Lake Superior as the family was paddling between two islands. Fryman’s wife -- 29-year-old Cari Mews-Fryman -- was also in the boat and was rescued hours after the incident. She survives.
Funerals for the four family members will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Loyal High School gymnasium, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. The family asks that donations in lieu of flowers be sent to the special fund that has been set up at Partners Bank in Spencer and Marshfield.
People wishing to contribute to that fund can make deposits at any of the three Partners Bank locations in Spencer, Marshfield and Stratford. Donations of cash and checks made payable to Family of Fryman-Mews are now being accepted. For more information on the fund, call 715-659-2430.
