Granton school administrator leaving after six years

With another resignation from the Granton School District administration, there will be some changes to the way things are run for the 2017-18 school year. Charles Buckel, the district administrator at the Granton Area School District, submitted his resignation to the School Board at its meeting on June 19.
After his contract ends on June 30, Buckel said he will be returning home to Ellsworth to care for a family member. While taking care of family, Buckel also plans to take up a 4K-5 principal position at a small parochial school a few blocks away from his home.
Originally, Buckel said he planned to stay on at the Granton School District for the 2017-18 school year, having told the Board of his intent to stay in January. When one of his family members began to have health problems, he made the hard, last-minute decision to resign.
