Granton principal resigns

With only a couple weeks remaining before the start of the 2018-19 school year, the Granton Area School District is looking for a new high school and middle school principal following the resignation of Julie Kolarik. Even with the new school year looming so close, the district is confident it will be able to find someone to fill in the role left by Kolarik before classes begin.
Kolarik formally submitted her resignation to the Granton School Board at its Aug. 13 meeting after receiving a job offer in Wisconsin Rapids. According to district administrator and elementary principal Scott Woodington, Kolarik’s new position will be closer to her home in Stevens Point, her main reason for the switch.
“She had been offered a post in Wisconsin Rapids, it’s closer to where she lives,” he said. “When you end up losing people moving closer to home, you can’t really blame them.”
