Loyal height too much for Granton boys to handle

Granton’s Johan Jacobson passes to a teammate against the pressure defense of Loyal’s Cameron Brussow (24) and Riley Geiger during the Greyhounds’ 64-31 Eastern Cloverbelt Conference win on Dec. 5 at Granton. Loyal built a lead of as large as 15 points in the first half, Granton cut it back to six points in the third period, and Loyal regained control with a 35-11 domination in the second half.

Loyal senior Tyler Prust scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots at Granton on Dec. 5 as the Greyhounds’ interior size led them to their first conference win of the season.
Loyal won 64-31 over the Bulldogs with a strong inside game and full-court pressure defense that led to 10 Greyhound steals and 31 Granton turnovers. Junior Derrick Howard joined Prust in the paint with a 15-point night and Ryley Fischer grabbed eight rebounds as Loyal evened its Eastern Cloverbelt Conference mark at 1-1. It was Granton’s first league game of the year.
