Ken was born on Sept. 28, 1940, in Spencer, to Lester and Dorothy (nee Fravert) Kenyon. After graduating from Spencer High School, he worked for a time at Engel’s Mink Farm and later at Land O’ Lakes in Spencer. Ken was drafted into the United States Army and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. On Sept. 10, 1966, he married the former Theresa Youngs at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. After his honorable discharge from the Army he returned to Spencer and his work at Land O’ Lakes until his retirement in 2002. His hobbies included bowling, gardening, camping, and ice fishing. He especially enjoyed just being outside whether it was cutting lawn, raking, or just sitting in his favorite lawn chair enjoying his cherry tobacco-flavored pipe. Most of all Ken loved being with his children, his grandkids and great-grandkids.
