Falcons win first conference title since 1958

Adam Seefluth pulls away from an Athens defender on his way down the field during Friday night’s big Cloverwood Conference matchup. Seefluth helped Abby defend the title with 51 yards of rushing.

An exciting touch-and-go game fought for the Cloverwood conference title resulted in an Abbotsford victory against the Athens Bluejays Friday with a final score of 19-13. The win gave the Falcons their first conference championship since 1958.
In the first quarter both teams put seven points on the board, with Abbotsford’s Izzy Garcia successfully earning the extra-point kick.
Athens scored a second quarter touchdown and failed a two-point conversion attempt, making the score 7-13 at halftime.
