Child dies after being run over by horse

This barn near Greenwood was the site of a fatal horse accident Wednesday that resulted in the death of a one-year-old child.

A one-year-old child died Wednesday after being run over by a horse inside the family’s barn near Greenwood, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s office received a 911 call at about 6:04 p.m. on Oct. 12, reporting the incident at N8501 Owen Ave. in the town of Eaton. The caller advised the child was breathing but was in and out of consciousness.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene with the Greenwood Area Ambulance and the St. Joseph’s Hospital Spirit ground ambulance.
The child was transported to the St. Joseph’s Hospital where the child died from their injuries.
Initial investigation indicates that the child was inside the barn with the child’s father when the accident happened.
The sheriff’s department and coroner’s office are continuing investigation into the incident.
The names are being withheld at this time pending notification of family members.
