Wayne Lindberg, age 73, passed away at his home on the river Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2015.
He was born in Abbotsford where he lived virtually his entire life. He married Dolly Arndt on June 23, 1962, and they began raising their family together almost immediately.
Wayne worked construction for 37 years, most recently with his son, Jonathon. His reputation as the hardest working person on the job still follows him some 11 years after retirement. He was passionate about everything he did and he taught his children to do the same.
Being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he had a strong belief in what the Bible had to say and his faith was built on that. Sharing that faith with others was a priority in his life. He was one of the most giving people you could ever know and will be missed more than words can describe.
His family was the love of his life and he cherished the time spent with them. He enjoyed the ‘almost’ weekly family cookouts and card playing, as well as some spirited croquet games.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolly Lindberg, who he loved deeply; his children, Keith (Mickey) Lindberg, Brian (Cindy) Lindberg, Nancy (Ted) Siewert, Daniel Lindberg and Jonathon (Jessica) Lindberg; grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb, Tyler (Jen), Matthew, Brock, Cody, Derek (Breanna) and Rachel. He is also survived by three siblings, John (Jeannie) Lindberg, Lenore (Gary) Gebert and Robert (Donna) Lindberg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Esther; one brother, Darryl; and five sisters, Doris, Ruby, Phyllis, Sandy and Muriel.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, with Adrian Knopps presiding.
