Sharon Lee Koch, age 70, of Holcombe, formerly of Unity, passed away April 22, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minn.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Family and friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Teri Hanson will preside.
Sharon was born on Feb. 9, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Hester Bender in Louisiana. She was united in marriage to David Koch on Nov. 7, 1969. Sharon received her degree in education from Southeast Louisiana College. Upon receiving her teaching degree, she taught many years for Spencer Public School district.
Sharon was a master for word games. She also enjoyed the ocean, dolphins, the color purple and watching crime shows on TV. Most of all, she cherished her family and spoiled her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband, David; her two daughters, Bobbi (Rick) Wagner and Andrea Koch; a son, Scott Koch; eight grandchildren, Taylor Wagner, Shelby, Austin and Chandler Koch, Kaylie, Addyson, Livvy and Brynlee Koch; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hester; a daughter, Penny Koch; and Jim and Martha Koch.
