Robert K. Paul, age 96, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Dycora Transitional Health and Living in Abbotsford surrounded by his loving family under the tender care of hospice.
A celebration gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment with military honors will be held in Abbotsford Public Cemetery at a later date.
Robert was born on July 15, 1923, the son of Albert and Vernice (Raymond) Paul in Medford. He began his military service with the United States Navy in 1943 and served on the U.S.S. Intrepid. Bob was honorably discharged in 1946. On Oct. 14, 1953, Robert was united in marriage to Marion Habermeyer at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford.
Bob was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Elmer Rapp Chapter No. 57 in Marshfield. He also was an avid fisherman. Most importantly, he cherished his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marion; three children: Mark (Laura) Paul of Phuket Thailand, Randal Paul of Santa Clara, Calif., and Thomas (Deb) Paul of Abbotsford; and two grandchildren: Tyler Paul of Abbotsford and Logan Paul of Colby. He is further survived by his sister, Dorothy Grinker of Dorchester; a brother-in-law, Galen Bergmann of Medford; and a sister-in-law, Joan Paul of Colby; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bonnie J. Bergmann; three brothers: Kenneth, William and Eugene Paul; a sister-in-law, June Paul; and a brother-in-law, Robert Grinker.
