Kenneth Ingersoll Jr.
Kenneth Ingersoll Jr., age 87, of Colby, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at Oakbook Health and Rehabilitation in Thorp.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at the Colby VFW, from 12-4 p.m. following interment at Abbotsford Public Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Kenneth was born on May 14, 1932, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Dumbrowe) Ingersoll, Sr. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. Ken was united in marriage to Dixie Faye Sossaman on Sept. 18, 1964.
Ken worked many different jobs including: Spencer Grocery Store, Clover Farm Store, Felkers Filing Station, O & N Lumber Co., Soo Line Railroad, H.K. Christensen Filling Station, American Box Bd., Spencer Sports Products, Edison Homes, Pathfinder Homes, Wick Building Systems, Colby and Unity Schools. After his retirement, he worked part time for Lamont’s Station, Orville Soyk and Abbotsford Nursing home. Ken also served in the National Guards for nine years.
Ken especially loved mowing his lawn and helping his family. He was very grateful to Kelly, Jodi, Brandon and Kaleb for all their help.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dixie; children: Kelly (Sandra) Ingersoll, Jodi (Daniel) Kagel of Colby, Darci (Shawn) McDonald of Owen; a step-son, Tracy (Norma) Sossaman of Dorchester; grandchildren: Brandon, Kaleb, C.J. and Robin; step-grandchildren: Kate, Rachel and John; and step-great-grandchildren: LeAnna and Brantley. He is further survived by his brother, Marvin Ingersoll of Adams Friendship; sisters-in-law: Kathryn Ingersoll and Wilma Sossaman of Abbotsford; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven brothers and sisters: Gladys, Donald, Arlene, Jeanette, Robert, Harold and Neal.
