Francis Joseph Sebold, age 88, of the Village of Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Father Tim Oudenhoven will preside. Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford with a Rosary service to be held at 7 p.m.
Francis was born on Nov. 5, 1928, the son of Joseph and Laura (Baumer) Sebold. He was united in marriage to Dolores Dessl on Sept. 4, 1951, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
Francis was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the National Guard for nine years. He also owned and operated Sebold Chevrolet in Abbotsford after taking the business over from his dad, Joe, until passing it on to his son, Joe. Francis enjoyed hunting, fishing, working at the dealership and spending time with his family.
Francis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores; eight children, Karen (Bruce) Meyer, Shirley (Randy) Tesmer, Paula (Lee) Blasel, Connie (Mike) Decker, Joe Sebold, Chuck (Gloria) Sebold, Sara (Doug) Blair and Fred Sebold; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Joyce Moberg; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Sebold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laura Sebold; a daughter, Amy; a grandson, Perry; his brother, Bob Sebold; and his brother-in-law, Don Moberg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be designated by the family at a later date.
