Are you curious about using the Internet? Or does the thought of going online confuse or overwhelm you? Then join Marathon County Public Library for a class that will teach you exactly how to navigate the web! MCPL will host its Internet Basics class on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 2 p.m.

to 3 p.m. at the Marathon Branch Public Library.

Attendees will learn basic information about the Internet, how to use a web browser and have free time to explore with the help of our staff. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

MAMBA concert

The MAMBA music boosters will host a spaghetti dinner and student concert on Sunday, Jan. 26, 11 a.m. at Marathon High School.

Building dedication

The Marathon Board of Education invites the public to a dedication and open house for a new addition at Marathon Area Elementary School (MAES) and Marathon Venture Academy on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m.

The program will take place in the MAES gymnasium. It will be followed by refreshments.

Basketball clinic

A Little Red Raiders basketball clinic series will be held on Saturday mornings in early 2020 at the Marathon Area Elementary School gymnasium. The clinic dates are Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

An 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. session will be held for plays in grades 5K through 2. Players in grades three and four have a 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. session.

Adam Jacobson will be the clinic coach assisted by Phil Seubert, Claude Seubert, Todd Stoffel, Chuck Woelfel, Alex Blume and this year’s high school basketball team players.

Internet basics

The Marathon Branch Public Library will offer a session on internet basics on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, 2-3 p.m.

Book Club

The Marathon Book Club will discuss “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah at the Marathon Branch Public Library on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
