Level 3 roundup: Hafferman stars as Edgar downs Loyal; Abbotsford wins

Alec Hafferman ran for five touchdowns, recovered two fumbles and picked off two passes as the Edgar Wildcats defeated the Loyal Greyhounds 33-7 to clinch a spot in their first state semifinal game since 2014.

Edgar (9-3) will face Bangor (12-0), the defending Div. 7 state champions, next week in a WIAA Division 7 state semifinal game at a yet-to-be-determined neutral site.

Loyal (10-2) turned the ball over six times - two interceptions, two fumbles, two muffed punts - in its first-ever Level 3 playoff game.

In other local action, Abbotsford (12-0) defeated Coleman 35-22 to advance to a Division 6 state semifinal for the first time since 2003.
