Wayne Albert Johnson, 70, Ogema, died Sunday, Oct. 25. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, at Spirit Methodist Church with Pastor Deb Hastings officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Spirit. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake is assiting the family.
Wayne Johnson was born on Oct. 21, 1945 in Tomahawk to Albert Victor and W. Jane (Fickel) Johnson. He graduated from Rib Lake High School.
Wayne owned and operated his own dairy farm. He had a love for all animals, and really enjoyed watching and feeding deer on his farm. He also enjoyed bowling, and playing softball and baseball and earned the nickname “Home Run Johnson” by many. Wayne attended Spirit Methodist Church.
He is survived by siblings, Pearl (Ben) Kauer of Rib Lake and Joseph (Dorene) Johnson of Spirit; nieces and Nephews, Jack Kauer, Neil Kauer, Marijane (Jason) Viergutz, Dean Johnson, Jolene (Craig) Berger, and Jason (Jenny) Johnson. He is further survived by many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial donations in honor of Wayne may be given to his family, for future designation.
