1933-2019

Lois A. Clarkson, 86, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday June 5 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel. Visitation will be held that day from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Lois was born on April 8, 1933 in Owen to Rudolph and Agnes (Anderson) Mengel. She married Lloyd C. Clarkson on April 17, 1954 in Owen and he survives. Lois worked for several area supermarkets including Krueger Grocery in Dorchester, IGA and Copps, both in Medford and County Market in Abbotsford, where she retired from in 1998. She worked in all areas of the supermarkets from managing, ordering, pricing, stocking and registers. She enjoyed cross stitch, embroidery and gardening various plants and flowers. Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she made quilts for every one of them. She also enjoyed her companionship with her Pomeranian dog, Ginger. She was of the Lutheran faith and a member at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dorchester.
In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by her children, Roxanne (Bob) Ayer of Columbus, Kevin (Patty) Clarkson of Medford and Steven (Lori) Clarkson of Stetsonville; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick) Schultz, Danielle (Mike) Deprey, Crystal (Eric) Arendt, Shantell Clarkson, Chad (Erica) Clarkson, Tina (Rob) Weis, Tanya Leonard and Stephanie (Ken) Mueller; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Sheryl) Mengel of Lakewood; several brothers and sisters-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Bruce; son, Michael; and siblings, Dick, Dolores, Sandra and Kenny.
Memorial donations in honor of Lois can be given to her family, with designation at a later date.
