Town of Johnson home, barn saved

A firefighter sprays water on a burning shed Monday in the town of Johnson.

Three area fire departments saved a barn and home Monday evening in the town of Johnson.
Athens Fire Chief Ron Lavicka said fire from a fully engulfed 70-by-40 foot shed on the Clarence Molthen farm, United Rd., threatened to spread to a nearby house and barn, but firemen intervened, saving both buildings.
“We had our hands full,” Lavicka said. “But we did a really good job.”
