Tigers win, Wildcats lose final dual

Wrestlers wrap up regular season as tournament series kicks off Saturday

Area wrestling teams are gearing up for the postseason tournament run, which starts Saturday with the WIAA regional tournaments across the state. Local wrestlers will compete at the Division 3 regional in Auburndale on Saturday. Wrestling is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
Over the past week some area teams got in one final dual meet before the postseason kicks off.
Here are the results of those duals.

The Edgar High School wrestling team faced Holmen on Friday at UW-La Crosse and lost in a tie breaker, criteria H, which are the most first scored match points. Holmen had 14 while Edgar had 10.
Edgar had seven wins to Holmen’s six, however the Wildcats forfeited the 106 pound weight class to even it out.

The Stratford Tigers traveled to Nekoosa last week Thursday where they downed the Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards team, 41-24.
The Tigers picked up two forfeits for a 12 point advantage but also won seven other matches, including two pins.
