Knights seal win in just 30 seconds
Although the season is just getting started, the Cornell-Lake Holcombe Knights Football team made their way to the top of the South Lakeland Conference standings after a Sept. 1 game against Pepin-Alma.
Friday night started with a slow first quarter with neither team earning a score. The second quarter began with Pepin-Alma earning a quick run-in touchdown and two-point conversion, and the Knights responded with an eight-point gain of their own after sophomore Aden Story ran in a 6-yard touchdown, with junior Luke Geist running in the extra points.
After halftime, the two teams continued their defensive battle, as Cornell-Lake Holcombe finally scored again at the 1-minute mark, when junior Wyatt Viegut ran into the end zone, bringing the score 14-8
