Cornell never gave up

As the Cornell Chiefs Girls Basketball team (ranked No. 15) was just starting to play their “best basketball of the year,” the ladies took on No. 2 ranked McDonell for the first round of Regionals Feb. 21.

“Well, last night was a tough game,” said Marcus Leland, Chiefs head coach. “We started out fairly well, but eventually, mistakes got the better of us and McDonell made a run that we couldn’t get back on track.”

Cornell earned seven points in the first half, as the Macks took an almost 30-point lead. Despite being down, Leland says his team kept up their intensity and “never gave up.”
