Lila K. (Camastral) Murphy

Lila K. (Camastral) Murphy, 91, rural Cadott, passed away March 10, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nev., just three weeks short of her 92nd birthday.

Lila was born April 2, 1925, in Ludington, and was the oldest of four children of George and Bertha Camastral.

She grew up in Ludington, attended cosmetology school and moved to Idaho with her sister, Lillian. It was there she met the love of her life, John Murphy, Billings, S.D.

They were married June 22, l952, and moved to California near his family, before moving back to the family farm in Ludington.

John and Lila owned and operated Cadott Lanes, and Lila operated her own beauty shop out of her home for many years after selling the bowling alley.

She spent her winters in Las Vegas, Nev., with her sister and daughters, and her summers at “home” in Wisconsin.

She is survived by her four children – Patrick (Diane) Murphy, Ludington, Denise (Harvey) Bonner, Louisiana, Kathleen Bell, Ludington/Las Vegas, Nev., and Colleen (Rudy) Cardenas, Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her sister – Lorraine Schultz, West Bend.

She has joined her parents; husband – John; sister – Lillian Dimke; and brother – Larry Camastral; who have gone on before her.

Services will be Saturday, April 8, at noon in Cadott, at Leiser Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow for friends and family at Halfway in Cadott. Interment of cremains will be at a later date in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in the Town of Seymour.

Friends may call two hours before services at Leiser’s Funeral Home in Cadott.
