Harold P. Capaul
Harold P. Capaul, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.
Harold was born Sept. 2, 1931, to the late John and Wilhemina (Minnie Van der Loop) Capaul.
He attended Cornell Schools, graduating in 1949. After high school, he drove a beer truck for Walters Brewing. He served in the Marines from 1951-53 in Korea as a BAR man in the infantry unit.
Upon returning to Cornell, he worked as a pipefitter at the mill.
Harold was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed canoeing and the outdoors. He was a founding member of the “Single Six” shack in Clam Lake. He enjoyed listening to the Brewers on the radio and watching the Packers (most days).
Harold married Evelyn Schneider May 23, 1959, in Cornell.
He is survived by his children – Greg, Trempeleau, Vicki (Gary), Ames, Iowa, Joe and Dave, both of Cornell, Joan, Chippewa Falls, John (Gina), Spokane, Wash., and Ann, Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren – Jeanne, Christina, Jennifer, Bryan, Haley, Jonathon, Emily and Salima; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law – Herman Schneider; sister-in-law – Rosemary Schneider; and brother and sister-in-law– Bill and Rosemary Babcock.
He was preceded in death by his wife – Evelyn in 2008; brothers – Raymond and wife Katherine, and Robert and LaVerne; sisters – Betty and husband Cope, Rita and husband LaVern, MaryJane and husband Bob, and Lucille and husband Bill; one niece and one nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell, with Father Eric Linzmaier officiating. Inurnment will be at the Cornell Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Cornell American Legion.
Memorial visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center for all the care they have given Harold these past years. It is greatly appreciated.
