Arlene M. Starck
Arlene M. Starck, 88, Barron, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Barron Care & Rehab.
Arlene was born Aug. 15, 1929, the daughter of Myron and Ottilla (Zebarth) Holbrook.
She grew up in Eau Claire, and graduated from Eau Claire High School.
She married Lloyd Starck March 16, 1949, in Eau Claire. They dairy farmed in Cadott, and she raised four children. She and her husband retired from farming in 1997, and moved to Barron.
Arlene loved to cook and bake, and had a large collection of cookbooks. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Barron.
She is survived by her sons – Albert Starck and Earl (Amee) Starck, both of Barron; daughters – Elaine (Duane) Sell, Augusta, and Jane Bates, Pflugerville, Texas; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law – Beverly Holbrook, Tecumseh, Mich.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother – Daniel.
Services for Arlene will be held Friday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m., at Salem Lutheran Church in Barron, with the Rev. Gary Paul officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church Friday morning.
Burial will be at the Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
