Wellness fair’s goal to educate public on care

Spring is the perfect time to think about shaking off winter doldrums

By Ginna Young

Spring is the perfect time to think about shaking off winter doldrums and creating an atmosphere of self-care. That’s why Lakeland Physical Therapy in Cornell, is hosting their second annual health and wellness fair.

The free event takes place Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the therapy center on State Hwy. 27.

“It is my mission to promote health and wellness in rural areas, as they are the areas least likely getting accessible health care and information, compared to the bigger cities,” said Lakeland owner/therapist Mary Joy Borton. “So, every year, for our Lakeland Physical Therapy anniversary, I want to thank the community by holding a free, fun and educational event, to serve as a thank you gesture for supporting us over the years.”
