A Cornell building has new looks – and smells – after Sam and Flip Beighley opened a restaurant along State Hwy. 64 in town.

The restaurant, called Sam’s Place, has been in the works since January 2018, and opened for business April 1, 2019, after some major renovations.

“We’ve been talking about this for four years,” said Sam.

Flip says they had considered taking over Sandi’s Drive-In, the restaurant in the building before Sam’s, a few years ago, but also looked at a number of other locations in the area.

“Then all of a sudden it was for sale,” said Sam of their current building.
