The jury trial for Doug Nitek, 45, Conrath, came to an end Sept. 25, when the jury found Nitek guilty of six counts. The charges were related to an October 2016 incident, when Nitek shot and killed a Rusk County Sheriff’s officer.

The trial took place Sept. 17-25, at the Dunn County Courthouse. Court records show the jury found Nitek guilty of first degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon; possession of methamphetamine; possession of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC); possession of drug paraphernalia; criminal damage to property over $2,500 by use of a dangerous weapon; and criminal damage to property by use of a dangerous weapon.
