“Anyone that worked with Pat Mrotek or knew him in any way, knew that his passion for the students of the school, and the school and the community of Cadott, were just the most important thing to him,” said Janet Butterbrodt.

Butterbrodt’s words came at a dedication ceremony at the Cadott Elementary School Nov. 3, in honor of Pat, who passed away from cancer in June. Along with Dauneen Amundson, Butterbrodt spearheaded a movement to install a bench outside the school in memory of Pat.

After working on the bench for a while, Butterbrodt and Pat’s wife, Doreen, approached the Cadott School Board for permission to install the seat depicting a boy and girl reading.
