Lindau continues the family business at Lake Holcombe
By Ginna Young
There is new leadership at Lake Holcombe School, as Kurt Lindau has officially taken over superintendent duties in the district. The search for a new administrator began in November 2018, after the school board decided to conduct the hiring in-house.
“So, it was put out on several job posting systems, with all of the information,” said board president Brian Guthman, “and about how to apply, and specific questions that the board and administration thought should be answered about the candidate.”
There were 18 candidates who shared letters of application, resumes, qualifications, letters of recommendation and answers to a series of specific questions. The board reviewed the applications, ranked the top six candidates to interview, visited the candidates’ schools and communities to get feedback, and invited three prospects back to be interviewed by three groups of people – the board, the staff and a community group.
