Lindau chosen as superintendent
By Ginna Young
Lake Holcombe School will have new leadership by July 1. After an interview process, Bruce native Kurt Lindau was hired by the Lake Holcombe School board Feb. 20, to fill the vacant superintendent position.
“Kurt was chosen because he was the best qualified for the job,” said Brian Guthman, school board president. “He has experience being a superintendent at a small school in our area, he was willing to also be the director of special education, so the board with not have to contract that position out. Kurt seems to have skills that we need in Lake Holcombe, at this time, to take the school forward.”
Former Lake Holcombe band director Joni Weinert has held an interim superintendent position since June, and helped with the selection process to find the right fit for the school district since November. After the board decided to search for a new superintendent without hiring out the service, information was posted on jobs sites.
