Legionnaire of the Year Award

Lyle Adrian (left) was presented with the Cornell American Legion Legionnaire of the Year Award by post commander Jake Gundlach Jan. 2. Members vote for the candidate of their choice at the end of the Legion year. To be eligible, a candidate must be active in the post and contribute ideas for the Legion’s success. The award came as “a complete surprise,” and Adrian says there are others ahead of him who deserve it. Because he acted as the commander for many years, Adrian had never received the honor.
