The Lake Holcombe School Board received community feedback on school closing times, during the public comment portion of a regular meeting April 22.

Kody and Jamie Morfoot asked the board to consider changes to the school policy on emergency closings, so parents would be notified of closings earlier in the morning  and at a set time, like 6 a.m. They also asked that the board consider giving a two-hour notice prior to early dismissal, whenever possible.

“Taking into consideration that a lot of people have left for work by then, I feel that’s kind of a very large window of time,” said K. Morfoot, referring to the current notification time between 6:30 and 8 a.m.
