Head start program coming to Cadott

By Julia Wolf

When the school bell rings to welcome Cadott students back to the classroom for the 2019-20 school year, students as young as three years old will be ushered in. The Cadott School Board voted during a regular meeting Jan. 14, in favor of CESA 11 opening a three-year-old head start program in the building.

The agreement is to bring the program to the school for one year. Cadott Superintendent Jenny Starck says there is an understanding that the program will be in the district for three to five years, with the contract renewed each year.

As part of the agreement, the district will be responsible for providing a room and the cost of utilities. CESA 11 will pay for teachers, the cost of student lunches and for cleaning their own room.
