Cornell residents are again reminded that the July 3 fireworks display at Mill Yard Park, is the only legal and approved use of the explosives within the city.

“In the City of Cornell, any fireworks that leave the ground, are illegal,” said mayor Judy Talbot.

Shooting off fireworks within the city is a violation of the town’s ordinance and no illegal fireworks will be sold within the city limits.

In addition to fireworks that leave the ground, those that make noise are also prohibited by ordinance.
