Event recognizes sacrifice of Lao/Hmong in Vietnam

The Wisconsin Lao Veterans of America, Inc., is hosting a Hmong/Lao veterans appreciation day celebration Tuesday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cadott Veterans Tribute (River Country Plaza). The event marks their veterans appreciation day, similar to Memorial Day or Veterans Day.

“The thing that most people do not know, is the sacrifice that the Laotian people made for us in Vietnam,” said George Olinske, president of Wisconsin Veterans Tribute and guest speaker for the event.
