Cornell playgroup teaches young children soft skills

River Source Family Center is again hosting a playgroup

By Julia Wolf

River Source Family Center is again hosting a playgroup, geared for children ages zero to five, at First Presbyterian Church, Cornell. The playgroup meets Tuesdays, from 9-10:30 a.m., and is free for all families, with no registration required.

“What families would expect, is a welcoming environment, full of fun, interactive toys,” said Amanda L., parent educator and parent services provider at River Source Family Center.

Amanda says the children get to decide what to play with and the parents come along to play with their children. Storytime and healthy snacks are also part of the playgroups, and each family is given one free book per month. The playgroup is designed for children who have not yet started kindergarten.
