Cornell City Council; How prepared is Cornell in an emergency?

It’s advisable to have a plan in place

By Ginna Young

It’s advisable to have a plan in place, in the event of a tornado or flood. With that in mind, the Cornell City Council discussed the plan put in place by the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, at a regular meeting March 7.

“The plan itself is pages and pages long,” said mayor Judy Talbot.

While many of the things on the plan are ranked “good,” Talbot says there could be changes that should be added. To help with that, a hazard mitigation meeting is set for Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m., in the council chambers.
