Cornell City Council; Hole repair scheduled

SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL –– Automobiles have had rough going over a hole left from a broken water valve this summer at the intersection of Cornell’s South Third and Bridge streets. A few projects are getting wrapped up in the coming weeks, after being discussed and approved at a regular Cornell City Council meeting Sept. 7.

While city employees have filled in a hole almost daily over the summer left from a broken water valve at the intersection of South Third and Bridge streets, the bumpy surface is now set to be repaired. According to city administrator Dave DeJongh, Chippewa County workers will repair the area around the valve the week of Sept. 18.

Repairs will take place at night, per WisDOT requirements, with lighting and signage, something Cornell could not do on their own.
