The lives of an area family were turned upside-down April 29, as a fire tore through the Holcombe home of Scott and Amy Linskey. The family made it out of the house safely, but lost almost everything in the blaze.

Several area fire departments were at the scene of the fire as dusk changed to dark, battling the blaze in a hopeless cause. It’s still unclear as to why the fire started, but Amy says it looked as though the foundation where the power source came in, may have been the culprit, for whatever reason.

Left without a home, the Linskeys are staying with someone until the fire marshal finishes his inspection and gives the go-ahead for demolition of what remains of the structure. Until then, Amy said it’s hard to pin down exactly what the family needs.
