Cadott gas line cut forces evacuations

Cadott residents were evacuated from the Pine Street and McRae Street area

By Julia Wolf

Cadott residents were evacuated from the Pine Street and McRae Street area, when a gas line was cut June 21, at about 11:15 a.m.

“When the road crews were working on the hill down by Poplar (Street) and the hill coming up, there was a two-inch gas line that was unmarked,” said Chris Tibbits, Cadott police.

Tibbits says the road crews hit and broke the line while they were working. The area is under construction as part of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project.
