“It’s a work in progress,” said Aleisha Merritt, Cadott High School special education teacher, referring to the new Cadott Community Closet.

Along with junior high special education teacher Jordan Risberg, Merritt started a closet at the school for those in need of clothing and other items.

The idea came about after the two discussed the need in the community during summer school. After taking part in a poverty simulation last year, Risberg says it hit home that there are people in the district who can benefit from the closet.

“That kind of sparked it, too, like we really have to do something,” said Risberg.
