Barney Town and downtown get cleaned up

Town of Lake Holcombe chairman Beau Bowlin says abandoned alleys and roads in the town are nearing the end of their “clean-up” phase, and will revert back to adjacent owners once registration is complete.

At a regular town board meeting May 11, members discussed the process they’ve been going through to clean up the abandoned roadways in the area.

The project began when the board realized a lot of old roads in Barney Town and downtown Holcombe had been abandoned, but paperwork had never been completed, leaving the property used by residents, but in limbo as to who owns it.
